Sam’s Birthday – Gaucho’s & Gotham
It was Sam’s Birthday and sticking to tradition, we’d booked a table at ‘our place’, Gaucho’s.
Let’s rewind a bit first… We checked in at the quirky, boutique, Gotham Hotel for the night.
Let me give you the tour…
Our Suite was B-E-A-UTIFUL.
Think Gatsby, meets Grand Budapest, meets Batman. IDEAL stay for your fella’s birthday.
(Although Sam is team Superman, but Superman doesn’t have a hotel in Manchester, so…)
The Hotel even has a ‘cast’ to bring your stay to life even more… check them out here.
We loved our room, and the bed was one of those ‘you’ll never want to leave me’ types.
…The travel chest I wanted to take home with us…
The mini bar of all mini bars, your own private cocktail corner.
When we’d finished ‘ooh-ing’ and ‘aah-ing’ at the suite, it was time to celebrate Sam’s Birthday!
Yes, those are dinosaur gift tags. He’s 28. I’m not even sorry.
Presents dished out, it was time to get dolled up for the night.
But not before a quick lay down on the bed…
Jeans swapped for a dress, and trainers swapped for heels – it was time to head over to Gaucho’s.
‘If you didn’t take a mirror selfie before you went out, did you ever really go out?’
We arrived at Gaucho’s, had a polite, quick look at the menu, and ordered our usual.
If you do book a table at Gaucho’s (which you should!), your waiter/waitress will bring out all the different cuts of meat and talk you through each one. They’ll recommend which cut will be best for you, based on how well you like your steak done.
The service there is always second to none.
Me and Sam both have the same, 300g Fillet, done medium rare.
Sam has his with peppercorn sauce and sweet potato wedges, I have the blue cheese sauce & fat chips.
I’m not even going to apologise for the lack of photo’s, our stomach’s were rumbling and the food was begging to be eaten!
To finish of, we shared a dessert sampler. This was our first dessert at Gaucho’s, it was ok!
Steak is definitely their speciality.
The sampler is made up of three desserts;
A milk chocolate & praline mousse (our favourite), Banana Mess & a tarty Sumer Pudding.
Over fed, slightly tipsy and completely happy, we stroll back to Gotham for the evening.
